Day 3 Results

We’re nearing the end of OOB, and all I want to know is where did this week go? How is it already Friday? You’re not here for my pseudo-philosophical questions about time, though.

Last night our judges were The Playwrights Realm’s Associate Artistic Director Alexis Williams and two Samuel French published playwrights, Clarence Coo and Samuel French’s former Director of Licensing David L. Kimple. Somehow, someway, they managed to pick a few finalists out of last night’s seven excellent shows.

The first session started with Tidwell, Or the Plantation Play by Rodney Witherspoon IIBlue by Emily Hageman, and Mama Won’t Stay Dead by Charlotte Higgins. In the second session we were introduced to Ground Chuckby Benjamin CarrLast Girls Trip by Dusty NovalEight Twenty-Eight by Kevin Rich, and Stay for Dinner by Becky McLaughlin.

After considerable thought and consideration, the plays chosen to perform on Saturday were Tidwell, Or the Plantation Play and Stay for Dinner.

Congratulations! If you want to see these plays again, then please keep a look out for Saturday’s schedule on our tickets page.  More Saturday finalists will be announced throughout the week, so please stay tuned for more updates. And, please check out our full schedule for our other Final 30 performances.

Thank you Alexis Williams, Clarence Coo, and David Kimple for joining us last night. Making those choices couldn’t have been easy.

Also, thank you to last night’s playwrights! It’s an honor to have you as part of our OOB family, and we look forward to talking to you more throughout the week. All playwrights are invited to watch all the sessions this week and to join us for drinks at sideBAR afterwords.
