OOB Day 4 Results

The best way to sum up day four — so little time, so many wonderful plays!

For last night’s first session we saw Keith Burton’s The Journey, Jonathan Josephson Grandpa and The Gay Rabbi, Sunita Deshpande’s A Sari for Pallavi, and Seamus Sullivan’s Valkyrie in the Roller Disco. After a quick break we then Lindsey Kraft’s and Andrew Leed’s Wedding Bash, Carey Crim’s Room 313, Mustafa Kaymak’s Green Card, and Angela Stern’s Mama’s Eggnog.

Also, we were introduced to last night’s three judges: Samuel French playwright Crystal Skillman, City Theatre’s Literary Director Susan Westfall, and American Theatre‘s editor-in-chief Rob Weinert-Kendt. The work to choose from was so strong that our judges chose four to advance, and they are:

Grandpa and The Gay Rabbi by Jonathan Josephson

A Sari for Pallavi by Sunita Deshpande

Valkyrie in the Roller Disco by Seamus Sulllivan

Wedding Bash by Lindsey Kraft and Andrew Leeds

Congratulations! If you want to see these plays one more time, A Sari for PallaviGrandpa & The Gay Rabbi, and Wedding Bash will be performed today at 2pm, and Valkyrie in the Roller Disco will be performed today at 4pm. Please check out our full schedule to see who else from our Final 30 made it to today’s finals.

Thank you Crystal Skillman, Susan Westfall, and Rob Weinert-Kendt for joining us last night. Making those choices couldn’t have been easy.

And thank you Keith Burton, Carey Crim, Mustafa Kaymak, and Angela Stern for your incredible work. It was an honor to have you be a part of our Final 30, and we can’t wait to see what you write next.
