Saturday Finals Results

Last night was the final night of our Forty Second Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, and what an inspiring week it has been. The Samuel French staff had so much fun meeting all the playwrights, directors, actors, and stage managers involved in the festival this week. As we say every year, OOB is not so much a competition as it is a celebration of theatre and the people who create it.

First, thank you to the judges who made most of the difficult choices this week. OOB would not be possible without your valued input!

We’d also like to thank all of the Samuel French staff and outside volunteers who keep this festival running every year. OOB is a labor of love for us at Sam French, and we are proud to host it every year.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to our talented Final 30 and the directors, actors, stage managers, and designers who realized their visions. Thank you for sharing your stories with us this summer; you should be proud of the work you have accomplished and we look forward to seeing what you do next.

Last night, after our twelve Saturday finalists presented their plays one more time, we hosted a party at Classic Stage Company. We also announced the six plays that will be licensed and published by Samuel French in the Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, 42nd Series. Those plays are,

SIR. by Jahna Ferron-Smith
What Happened at the Dolphin Show by Miranda Rose Hall
Jack + Jill by Sarah K. Hammond and Emily Goldman
this movie by Amanda Keating
Breakfast Scene by Eric Marlin
Square Footage by Jessica Moss

Congratulations! Once again, thank you to everyone involved in the festival this year.
