Thomas M. Atkinson’s Stories Going Places!

We love watching authors succeed during the OOB Festival, but we love seeing where our friends go afterwords, too. Recently, 38th OOB Winner Thomas M. Atkinson, who won in 2013 for Dancing Turtle, has received well earned recognition for his other works.

Atkinson’s “Grimace in the Burnt Black Hills” will be published in the anthology New Stories from the Midwest 2015! His story is one of 25 new works chosen by series editors Jason Lee Brown and Shanie Latham and by their guest editor, Pulitzer finalist Lee Martin, for publication. New American Press will be publishing the series this fall.

Then, Atkinson’s short story “Me & Mr. Tinkles” is a winner in the Fish Publishing International Short Story Contest. Out of 1,400 submissions, Atkinson’s piece was one out of ten chosen to be published in the 2016 Fish Anthology. But wait, it get’s better! Fish Publishing has invited him to read his story at the West Cork Literary Festival later this month in Ireland!

Congratulations, Thomas!
